Enjoy a unique adventure as you discover the fascinating geological diversity of Sancerre’s three major terroirs, guided by your sense of sight, smell, taste and touch.
This memorable experience is also an opportunity to discover the history of Domaine Hubert Brochard and our most outstanding parcels, including a visit to our gravity-fed winery. The highlight of this fascinating interlude is an introduction to oenology with three of our exceptional cuvées, paired with Crottin de Chavignol cheeses and regional specialties…
This is an original wine tasting workshop that goes beyond a traditional tasting. Here, you explore Sancerre wines through your senses to understand how soils influence aromas and textures. It is an immersive approach, ideal for discovering wine in a different way.
Because this workshop directly connects Sancerre terroirs (hence the prefix “geo,” from the Greek word for “earth”) with the sensations perceived through the five senses during this unique wine course (hence “sensory”). You handle, observe, and feel the soils to better understand their impact on the wines.
This wine experience in Chavignol is designed for all adults: curious beginners, wine enthusiasts, or visitors looking for a unique activity. It is also a great idea for an outing in Sancerre with family, friends, or as a couple, combining learning and conviviality. Children are welcome to listen or enjoy reading and coloring in a dedicated space.
Yes, it is an ideal activity when the weather is uncertain, as the workshop takes place entirely indoors at our winery.
The workshop alternates between discussions, sensory activities, and a guided tasting of wines. You will discover the history of our estate, the main Sancerre terroirs, and then taste three AOP Sancerre wines paired with regional cheeses. All of this takes place in an interactive, small-group format.
You will taste three cuvées representative of our Sancerre estate, selected to illustrate the diversity of our terroirs. The tasting is accompanied by local products, including Crottin de Chavignol cheeses, to also introduce food and wine pairing.
We recommend booking in advance. As the number of participants is deliberately limited, time slots fill up quickly, especially on weekends and during school holidays. Booking allows you to plan your visit with peace of mind and choose the most suitable time.
The meeting point is at our shop in Chavignol, which is the starting point of the experience. Outside the harvest period (generally from late August to early October), part of the workshop includes a visit to our winery.
The workshop is accessible to people with disabilities. Assistance may be required when entering the winery. We recommend contacting us in advance at +33 2 48 78 20 13 or visite@hubert-brochard.fr.
After your tasting workshop in Chavignol, explore the medieval town of Sancerre and its charming streets. Climb to the top of its hill for an exceptional panoramic view over the vineyards of the Centre-Val de Loire, then stop by the Maison des Sancerre to deepen your wine-focused visit.
For variety, explore the Loire riverbanks on foot or by bike, or go hiking in the Sancerre vineyards. The Jardin de Marie or the Château de Pesselières also offer great outing ideas. Combining nature, heritage, and gastronomy, these activities in the Berry region suit families, friends, or couples alike.
